ANTE is a ten-minute roguelike deckbuilder where every player on earth plays the identical seed each day. Same starting hand, same shop, same bosses, same order. No retries. The only variable is what you decide to do with it.
How it plays
You cannot grind ANTE. That's the point — it's why people are still playing a year in rather than burning out in a fortnight.
STEP 01
At midnight a new seed goes live. You get the same fourteen cards as everyone else, the same shop inventory, and the same eight antes standing between you and the boss. Open the app whenever suits you.
STEP 02
Build the deck, spend at the shop, pick your relics, and decide how far to push the greed lever before it takes everything back. One thumb, portrait, pausable at any point. Ten minutes, give or take.
STEP 03
Your score lands on your friends' leaderboard and you get a spoiler-free grid to share. Then you watch how the top runs played your seed — which is where the arguments start.
The daily seed
Most roguelikes hand you a random run and ask you to accept the luck. ANTE hands everybody the identical run, which changes what the leaderboard actually measures.
When the cards are fixed, the gap between your score and the top score is entirely decisions. Losing stops feeling unfair and starts being instructive — you can see exactly where you went wrong, because someone else went right with the same material.
"Did you take the Mirror on ante four, or save for the shop?" is a question that only exists because we all faced it this morning. That shared problem is the entire social engine, and it costs nothing to build.
After you finish, replays unlock. You already know this puzzle intimately — you agonised over that exact shop. Watching someone triple your score with the cards you threw away is the best tutorial we could have built.
No revives, no rerolls, no extra cards, no paid advantage of any kind — not for money, not for watching an ad. The shared seed only works if it's identical, so the run is off-limits to the shop. Permanently.
The result card
Each square is an ante; the colour is how far you beat or missed its target. Post it the moment you finish and nobody's run is ruined — but everybody can see precisely how yours went.
It's also the entire marketing budget. A result card is an advert that a player wanted to send.
Private leagues
A global top-1000 is demoralising. Beating Sarah by four hundred points is not. Leagues are private boards for an office, a friend group, or a Discord — one person hosts, and up to fifty people play inside it for free.
Hosts get the league name, custom rules for the weekly Gauntlet, and a season archive. Everyone else just plays and talks trash.
